Hi Paul We have experienced the same problems with Premiere Pro. Until we get 64 bit machines the problem will continue. I get the students to do small projects only and I check their work on-screen regularly. The students get frustrated with the continual crashing but they get very proficient with editing their videos and saving the small clips needed to make their complete project. They also get practice at adding titles and credits so that towards the end of the project they can put the piece together, I can view it and assess it and then it doesn't matter if it crashes. Some of our problems occur when the students have worked on the project and saved it and then they try to open it the next day. They are ususally informed that the file is damaged and it cannot be opened. Sorry Paul, but we haven't found a solution except to wait until we get 64 bit machines. Regards

We purchased the CS5 Master Collection late last year. With Dell Optiplex desktops still running Win XP, we had to go back to Premiere Pro CS4 becasue we only have 32bit machines. This is the first time we have attempted to use Premiere Pro, and, once a new project and new sequence have been created, the workspace layout loads, and Premiere Pro crashes. We've Googled for answers and found the (what seem like thousands of ) threads relating to Premiere Pro crashing. So far without luck across a lab. The problem seems to only be with Premiere Pro , and we've been successfully using After Effects CS4 without problems. I'd hoped someone had suffered a similar problem, and might have some sage advice. My students would certainly be grateful!!! Paul --- You are currently subscribed to qsiteict as: [email protected].
