Good morning

I have attended the Ferny Grove day. At that time, it was sponsored by
Microsoft and all other major software companies had stalls. They possibly
paid for the main guest speaker from the development department. There was
new hardware on display and displays on all types of new infrastructure.
For the teachers, they had workshops using new technologies, lucky door
prizes, outdoor lunch etc. It was conducted on the Student free day for
the Exhibition when I went. Sadly, people don't like giving up their
weekends for school anymore. Hope This helps.

Subject: [qsiteict] QSITE State Conference and Technical

Hello All

I'm seeking your advice regarding the QSITE State Conference. As you would
know each year we hold a State Conference and in recent years we have not
been attracting attendees from Technical or network managers which is of
concern to some of our sponsors, particularly Dell. I know one issue is
that sponsors who do presentations never get the information to us early
enough to advertise and I have told them that it is required earlier. I
have also been told that the "Ferny Grove" day was great. I'm not sure what
is meant by that comment other than it was for 1 day only and on a Student
free day which is appreciated by teachers.

We are currently calling for presenters and I wonder if you could offer any
suggestions on what I should do to appeal to this audience.

What sort of exhibitors?

What type of presentations?

Suggested presenters.

Would appreciate your assistance as it is getting very hard to gain
sponsorship as the years progress and many of the sponsors want exposure to
those making decisions or working on the technical side of things in
schools.

I've attached the first version of the conference flyer for your interest
and feedback please.

I look forward to getting some input please. You can email me directly if
you prefer rather than flooding the list.

One other thing we are calling for presenters so if you are interested in
presenting a session in any of the conference strands we would welcome you
so please go to website gc.qsite.edu.au for information and to submit.

Thanks

Lyn Allsop
