With NumLock active I only have the numerical value, with or without
shift button pressed.

        No, that is not the case.
        Whiout shif pressed, all the buttons behave like Home, End,
PgUp, arrow,
        etc.
        But when shift is pressed, on linux the upper character of the
button is
        interpreted.
        


 

Just found that the right behaviour is observed when NumLock IS active!
Ubuntu 9.04 64bit.
