You can work phone lines, often they will call forward the calls right to your home. I logged alot of hours on the drug and alcohol hotline before becoming a counselor. It can help for admission into school and getting employment.
If you like kids, you can volunteer at a local rec center to help with homework. Here they have after school homework programs.
WHat are you planning to do when you graduate? You can look for positions volunteering in that field of work too. People love to have volunteers (most of them anyway) do the grunt work.
Here in Columbus they have a central office called FirstLink and it hooks people up with agencies and companies seeking volunteers.
