Just a quick note for Dave - he is in the hospital. Took him to the ER on 11/01 and they decided to admit him. Same massive infection and swelling in the perianal area. Lots of pain and swelling. After much testing, they discovered a small fissure in his urethra. It is allowing urine to seep in to the surrounding tissue, causing massive swelling and infection. The doctors have not decided on whether to cauterize the opening or to make an incision and go in to repair it. They inserted a PICC Line yesterday and he will go home with that, when they decide he's ready to go home. A Home Health nurse will have to come daily for the antibiotic IV.
