You've got my permission to park in two regular spots, as long as its not in the fire lane or those areas designated for ADA parking and the cross marks. Of course you have to use your better judgment when parking in businesses that have only two parking spots at the local strip malls. Here in Chicago, they have independent companies that will boot your car or van just like that, without question in private strip malls. These are private parking lot companies protecting the few parking spaces. For $200 bucks, they will release you. City can't do anything about it as its private property. I've seen it around the donut shops and wash O mats. Always look both ways..... Best Wishes W In a message dated 7/23/2007 9:13:22 A.M. Central Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:
I have always driven side-entry. As a rule, if I do not have enough of the yellow cross-hash space next to my van, then I’ll go take two “regular” spots by parking diagonal across both. Other tricks include bringing a orange cone with you to block a spot and using non-moving objects in the parking lot to secure more room. Have I been approached by the law or business owners? Yes, and I tell them to go tow offenders, make the van spots bigger, or increase the number of spots to ADA specs.
