I'll just say, There's no such thing as a stupid question.
Part of thier job is to ask these questions and laziness has nothing to do
with it.
I've been to several Task Force meetings and have given speeches or told my
story many times at them and have been asked many questions by people on the
task force simply wanting to know what works and what doesn't, that's part
of thier job so they can address the very problems we have. They can't
assume we all have the same problems , now that would be lazy.
I'm also a member of ADAPT btw and most members are disable if you must
know.
What really urks me about this Lori is that you have no idea how much ADAPT
has done for the disabled community.
There's a lot of people here that would probably be living in a nursing home
if it wasn't for ADAPT and the questions they have asked in the past.
So I'll say thanks ADAPT for making it possible to live at home and a pca to
help me out and making things accessible like cabs, buildings, rest rooms,
sidewalks, parking, and almost every public place you can go.
Is it perfect yet? no! That's why we ask questions!

Yes...THEY should be finding answers to the questions posed. By asking
different individuals... they will get biased or possibly untrue, therefore
slanted, information. Specifically because of the actual questions they're
asking. It is their job to be doing it. They should not be asking others
to do their job. That happens so frequently these days because of laziness
or you name it.

That is true, but maybe they want client input possibly. They should check
out what each state does to verify?

I do not think that ADAPT should be getting input or asking people to do a
job that THEY should be doing!

Dear Advocate for Home and Community Services:

During the week of April 27th-May 1st The ADAPT Community will be announcing
the "2008 TEN BEST/TEN WORST STATES" for Home and Community Services.

We would like your input in making these decisions. Below please find a
short
informal survey asking your opinions on the home and community programs your
State provides to people with disabilities, old and young. This includes
all
Medicaid waiver programs, Medicaid State Plan programs as well as all other
federally and State funded programs that allow people to remain in the
community.

THIS SURVEY SHOULD ONLY TAKE 30 MINUTES OF YOUR TIME!

PLEASE RETURN BY MARCH 15TH to:

ADAPT
1640A E. 2nd St
Austin, Tx 78702

We will also be looking at statistical data that has been developed by other
advocacy/research groups as well as data developed by academic institutions
to
make our final determinations.

Please distribute this survey as widely as possible. The more input we get
from y'all the more accurate our results will be.

Thank you for your support.
