I got approved to move to a wheelchair accessible apartment. I will be able to take a bath & wash my hair inside the bath tub. Bake a cake - yeah no way! But I could do it in my accessible kitchen. I will have a dressing area & a separate bath room. The bed room isn't big, just enough room for the bed. The living room & kitchen area is huge. Everyone I have met there is happy and they are able to leave their apt and sit in the common area & visit. There is no management on site. There is a social worker there. Here is what the apt is going to look like _http://www.accessiblespace.org/housing/Pages/housingdetails.aspx?housingid= 115_ (http://www.accessiblespace.org/housing/Pages/housingdetails.aspx?housingid=115) I am so excited.
