My insurance covered the Clinatron bed. At least 80% of it anyway.
I got a pressure sore on my butt again, it's the biggest one I've had. Staying
in my regular bed getting turned every two hours was a big hassle. Not even
really getting turned I had to stay on my right side. So I was either turned
really far, or I was turned just a little bit. It put too much pressure on my
sore if I was on my back or my left side.
The Clinatron bed is full of sand, that blows around inside the mattress. It
used to be a huge bed though now it's the size of a regular hospital bed. It
has one big problem, it is very loud. It's so loud my environmental control
unit barely works. At least I can lay on my back part of the time. I have a
hard time using Dragon also, but I guess it's worth it.
They say you can lay on your back and not get turned at all, but I think it's
better to get turned now and then anyway. But man is it loud.
