4 weeks or so to recover. 12 weeks fully. My husband has a colostomy and 
suprapubic. No problems. He keeps the colostomy bag on the outside of his 
boxers and cath and tube on the inside. We cover up SP hole (with baby wipes) 
when changing c-bag.
