Sounds like you might have some food allergies. Remember that allergies CAN
develop over time, so just because you've never been lactose intolerant doesn't
mean that hasn't changed. The one you hear about now is gluten sensitivity, but
there are many foods that could be causing you to have reactions. Excessive gas
in the stomach or intestines could easily cause A.D., as well as inflame your
digestive tract. It might be worth seeing and allergist, or at least trying a
change in diet to see what happens. For example, no dairy products for two
weeks. Other common allergens include: eggs, nuts, shellfish, soy and wheat
products. Carbonated beverages can cause gas too.
Good luck. I hope you guys can figure it out!
Don.

Empty bowels always makes me feel better. Sometimes I wish I could get by
without eating anything at all. But, alas, hunger pangs interfere. I eat,
become bloated and painful, and the whole thing starts over again. Bummer.

You are correct and I do that. Also, i have noticed that when you have a
thorough bowel movement it helps the medicine work better...weird I know, but
true for me. Anyone else notice that?

I think that the first thing everyone needs to know about most pain drugs is
that you must continually break the forming addiction.  Staying on one drug
will cause it to lose its effectiveness.at that point you are taking the drug
and its not doing anything but feeding an addiction. No one in pain wants to
hear this but the fact is you must find another drug or device while you detox.
The drug needs to come from another family of drugs.  Altering your medications
and using milder drugs whatever the pain isn't quite as bad can help extend the
use of Norco or vicodin.  Don't get me wrong, I'm totally sympathetic I've been
on the trip myself.  john s

I have the same thing with pinched nerves from my disc. Also, when I first
broke my neck My hip on one side got inflamed with calcium deposits
(hetertopicosification) witch has left me crooked. The last few years my whole
other side has deterorated and so Norco has stopped working very well. What is
the next step up in pain management.? They won't operate.

I was told it was disintegrating disc disease. There's no cure for it. It
causes nerves to be pinched as well as making it impossible to position
comfortably. Spending long times sitting in the chair is really painful.I'm to
the point now where I get out of bed for a couple hours each day.Best wishes.

John, I read that many quads develope disc problems in their backs, did they do
anything for yours or do you just get by as best you can with that??  thanks,

Dan, I've had some fractures that were almost undetectable but really sent my
bp up and pulse way down. Just the weight of my foot separated my tibia at the

played hell with me. Try sitting straight up and take something for pain. Don't

Man, I hate having dysreflexia and unable to find the cause, I have been having
it on and off for about 3 days and have had almost no sleep for the last 2
days. Bladder and bowels all seem fine-no pressure sores or etc. that we can
find. When I try to lay down at night after a while I get real hot and clammy,
my heart begins to pound and act up. I do have a syrinx and bad neck and back
pain but not sure if that can be the problem. I guess Monday I'll try to call
my primary doctor and get checkup and bloodwork for a start, This stuff is
depressing and drives my wife crazy making her lose sleep also, plus she is a
caregiver to an elderly woman with alzheimers 4 days a week. This Quad related
stuff can be so challenging at times ! Well I guess i'm done venting...it's
about 3:45 am. Hope To get better before long.  Dan H***
