Greetings, Quadlisters: I'm still setting up my Performa 476 to give away and tried to add this to it:
NEC MultiSpin 3x CD-ROM Reader, but I suspect it's dead. Here's what happens: I'm running OS 8.1 and have tried both drivers (the latest 5.31 driver, and even backtracked to the 5.0A driver originally supplied with the reader). Upon startup, I see the SCSI chain recognizes the drive (all the display controls flash for a quick second). However, I cannot get the driver to recognize the drive at all. Is it completely dead, or is there another driver I can download to try to get this thing to work? TIA, and peace.... -- Cheers!
