A 601 upgrade will run 8.6 just as well as it runs 8.1
I was wondering about that myself, as I just installed 8.6 on a 7100/66 (601). I wondered if 8.1 would be any faster. Which OS you choose is very relative to your hard drive space and memory overhead, of course. 9.1 requires 64MB of RAM 8.6 requires 24MB of RAM (190 - 250 MB Disk Space) 8.1 requires 12MB of RAM (125 MB - 200) >9.2 is not an option, a few folk claim better speed etc. on older powermacs but I >don't see it being worth the trouble. The upgrade that takes 9.2.1 to 9.2.2 is the one that is specifically relative to Finder compatibility with OS 10 . Cheers, Terry -- Quadlist is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
