It's what I run mostly though. If you want the snappiest feel you might try System 7.5.5 or 7.6.1. 7.0.1 is quick but sure is primitive. OS 8.1 may allow you run a greater selection of apps. > With a ppc upgrade you can take it to 8.6, maybe more but 9.x bloat will limit > the usefulness of the machine. I believe I have 104M RAM. For routing it's fine but the user interface is "goopy". I'd think the same would be true for an accelerated 950. > I use 9.1 on my 9500 and could choose to use 9.2.1 as well but prefer 9.1. I've been running 9.2.1 on my 8500 and it's been just a little nicer for me. I think the OpenGL is a newer version and it runs the video just a little smoother. Starts up quite a bit faster too. Really stable also, I leave the thing on for months sometimes. If you're interested in experiments, I believe there is a version of Linux that runs fairly well on the 950. Neither OpenBSD or NetBSD will run on it (rats!) but Apple's A/UX will (3.1.1) and it's fairly interesting. It runs System 7.0.1 and Unix, side by side. Plenty of downloads still out there.
