Maxing the vram to 1mb helps.

I've never gave it any second thoughts knowing that I have no intentions of upgrading my monitor. Does maxing the vram to 1 Mb help in any other way other than allowing more colors? -stew

It makes using the thing much more pleasant but thats about it the one with 1mb of ram both looks better and feels faster but that may just be me, personally I have 3 of them and wouldn't bother hunting for more than 32mb of symmetric memory for any of them.

To the best of my knowledge the 475 has only one ram slot and two vram slots making 68mb about its ceiling, plenty of other quadras you'd get better bang for your buck out of.

For interests sake, the revision A board includes a cuda switch and is the one with the extra vram which may also explain the feeling of extra speed.

Cheers
