I got up this morning and was going to try a smaller partition, reverting back to 7.6, etc., but, alas, its all a moot point now as I am getting a sad Mac. I let the thing sit on a ? Mac for about 3 hours (I was busy...), and then it just all of the sudden changed to a sad Mac. Now it does it just after initializing the video - it's the first Mac icon I see. In light of the fact that I've been able to purchase a 7600 MB, a complete working 7200/120, and a 8600 system for less than $200, I think I'm just going to part this thing out (if there is anything of any value in it)(I paid about $2,000 for the 636CD originally!).
