I think it also applies to your Quadra 700. The page explained a lot for and might also be the solution to your problems.
The rest was as simple as installing / coyping the system software / system folder on the zip disk, just like on any other drive.
Make sure that the zip disk is inserted into the drive, when you start the computer. If it gets ejected, re-insert it immediately, so that your system recognizes it as a boot volume.
If a mac system is still installed on the hard drive, you might need to select your zip disk as the start volume. AFAIR there is a control panel to do that...
Any suggestions on where I can download the appropriate iomega software because sys 7 is old now.
Well, as detailed on the linked page, you might be better off with not using the latest driver from iomega. I am not sure what versions they have on their website, but the driver shuold still be there, somewhere in the support section...
