I'm rebuilding a +2 (# 064) here in Canada. When attempting to install a 1994 Escort 'up and over' intake manifold I found that, although the bolt pattern was correct, the ports on the manifold were about 3/4 inch above the ports on the cylinder head. I expect that part of the problem is that the engine is 'post-'97' Mondeo 1.6 (manufactured fall of 97) with some changes having been made to that engine in mid-'97.
Does anyone know know if ANY 'up and over' manifold will fit? If not, I may use the conventional downturned Mondeo intake- since I've converted to left-hand-drive there no longer is a brake transfer bar, and nothing to interfere with that type of manifold back to the steering rack. I 'think' there should be enough room, but unfortunatley there are none 'at hand' here in Canada to try.
