Make sure that when the head was refitted that the feed and return fuel pipes weren't swapped over. Doing this gives really high fuel pressure as the regulator can't work and far too much fuel. The feed goes to the pipe at the far left of the fuel rail and the return comes off at the right next to the pressure regulator. The feed should be coming from the fuel filter if its mounted in the engine bay.
