Ah yes, i forgot about the RS1600I (i bet those bits are worth a few bob now). It's basically the same as the Mk3 RST setup though the RST was change a bit to make it cheaper.

I think i have a spare smaller dia Mk4 bar as i upgraded the one on my saloon to the larger dia.
I will try to remember to look at the weekend.
The track control arms can be got from any motor factors.

I'll have to have a good look at this car in the scrap yard by the
sounds of it. I was hoping that the difference between the Mk3 and 4
suspension was greater, I have a roll bar set up that came off an
RS1600i which has adjustable ends ("twin" roll bars with clamps that
hold them together) and is as you decribe for the RS turbo and I was
sort of hoping that this was fairly standard for the Mk3 and that the
Mk4 utilised the single piece antiroll bar, therefore the one in the
scrap yard would have fitted but now I am a little uncertain. I also
have an early Fiesta so know what you mean by the tie bar
arrangement.

Thanks for the help so far.

The Mk3 and Mk4 Escort lower suspension setup is almost identical.
Not quite sure what you mean by "twin roll bar" setup, do you mean like
the Mk2 Fiesta ?, that doesn't have a front anti roll bar, just a tie
bar on each side.
The bar on the Escort doubles up as the track control arm and the tie bars.
The only Escort that was different was the Mk3 Escort RS turbo which had
a very fancy setup which i'm pretty sure won't fit on a Quantum.

If you get a bar of a different size then make sure you get the matching
rubber bushs from the clamps as they are a different size as well and
i'm not sure they are still available from Ford.
I expect you can get polyurethane ones though.

Is the dash still in the car ?, i'm sure you can find pictures of the
Mk3 and Mk4 Escort dash on the net.
Or the bumpers, the Mk3 had old style metal bumpers, the Mk4 more modern
bigger plastic bumpers.

No, not just you but comparing yourself to crash test isn't the best
you can do.
The mounting points are all ok so no issues on that front.
I managed to locate one Anti rollbar in the local scrap yard that
looks anything like the one I have removed, it's off an escort estate,
it is 22mm diameter (against the 24mm one the Quatum had on it) and as
it is the only older escort in the place I think I will have to get
it but how do I tell what mark escort it is as there is no number
plate on it. Was the Mk4 the first to have a "one" piece antiroll bar
as opposed to the XR3 twin roll bar? All I can say for sure is that
the engine was a CVH unit.
I thought I would find a few more older escorts in the scrapyard but
they are drying up really fast.

Check that the body isn't damaged where the lower arm bolts on.
I had a slowish slide going around a roundabout and slammed into a kerb,
it has stressed and cracked where the arm bolts on.
Eddie's just had a look at it and says I was lucky.

Subject: [Quantum Owners] track control arms and anti roll bar
Well Crash Test has done it again, only a mild slide into the kerb on
ice this time so not a major job to repair but I need to know what the
lower track control arms are from as I need a nearside one but will
replace the two as I'm at it.
Also what is the front antiroll bar off as that is bent as well.
I'm thinking they are probably Mk3 Escort but just need confirmation.
