As has been mentioned elsewhere, the difference between the "power
steering" and "XR2i and RS Turbo" lower joints is likely to be the mk3
vs mk3.5 difference that's the bane of many an H4 owner's life! The
mk3.5s (introduced in 1994) were the first Fiestas to have power
steering as an option and have different suspension to the earlier
cars - the diameter of the shock absorbers increased from 44mm to
45.5mm (I think), along with different hub carriers and lower arms.
The later cars, especially those with power steering, seem much more
susceptible to problems with the wrong lower arms giving rise to
binding driveshafts too.
