Hamish,
I think you need to. When I took mine for the IVA test they told me that they were not testing it for road worthiness but whether it was built correctly and meets all the required standards, they do not test things like wheel bearings, suspespension joints etc. I think this is also why the DVLA say that you have to trailer it to their inspection as it is not legal to take on the road as it has no MOT, but you can drive it to the IVA test without one. Confused? I certainly am.

I am still working on my "fix list" from the first IVA test but thankfully I am nearly at the end. I finished the strengthening plates for the pedal box and servo mounts today and only about 3 things left to do so I must get the retest booked.

My understanding is that after passing a IVA you don't need a MOT for 3 years.

Hi,
This is a question for anyone who has recently registered their kit for the first time with DVLA after passing IVA.
Did you also have to provide an MOT before they would register it?
I have had conflicting information from DVLA and concluded that most of their downloads are at least a year out of date as most things stated related to kits tends to still refer to SVA.
Thanks,
Hamish
