It depends why and where it has seized.
If its because of general engine wear that let the oil pressure get too low then it's not going to be worth a rebuild, everything will be worn.

If it's just one or a couple of bearings seized due to oil starvation due to low oil or fast cornering then you may well get away with just replacing those bearings.
I have done that with a couple of big end bearings on a Zetec.

Or it could be a piston seized in a bore but thats only likely on a new or modified engine unless it overheated as well.

Was the oil the correct grade ?, before and after the change.

Guys,

Last night, having changed the oil due to oil pressure problems, my
engine seized. The oil pressure warning light has been on more so than
not recently. Not sure why, had been stood a bit over winter (outside)
so thought an oil change wouldn't go a miss. But up to changing the
oil the top end sounded really noisy.

The question to the group been, how salvage-able could it be. I
haven't stripped the engine down yet to see where it has seized. But
am just getting the options together for when I get chance to work on
it.

Thanks
Mark

p.s. it a zetec
