Thanks guys. I have used 5/30 oil all the time I've had it & never had low oil level. The engine has about 130k, but had no smoking.
The only mods done to the engine where those to convert the 2ltr to fit the quantum engine bay. I did use a tube of gasket seal for the sump rather than a proper sump gasket as at the time couldn't seem to get one. I tried to remove the sump last summer but it wouldn't budge. So think I might have over done it a bit. I have had overheating problems, these have been an issue since installing the engine. I think mainly down to faulty fan switches. I have had the heater matrix blow & a raditor blow, both quite spectacularly. I had only just run the car up for about 5 mins having just replaced the oil, so wasn't really warm. I would to have a go at a re-build & tweek it a bit, but this depends how far gone it is. Will prob start hunting for a replacement anyway. Mark p.s. the car was running 'fine' then just stopped without any noticable warning.
