The one way valve on the breather system was being a 2 way valve and not
closing as it should at idle.
So the breather system was sucking air through into the inlet manifold
at idle and generally confusing the ecu.
The servo also has a vacuum leak.

Thank you both very much for your help on Saturday, the 2+2 already
runs a little better after the alterations to the crankcase breather
system. Tick over is now down to around 1400rpm, so better than was,
I hope to replace the brake servo tomorrow and with luck it will
bring the revs down to an acceptable level at idle, I will post
tomorrow evening with the results providing I can obtain a new servo.
