There are three problems that have caused this, I think.

The first is the insane amount of power available - around 250bhp, though I
believe some of the Ford turbos are around that figure - which is
guaranteed both to distort tyre shapes and to lift the front end under
boost. The tyres are wider and deeper than the originals and the offset is
greater, too, which doesn't help.

The second is that the Fiat engine is quite wide and I was not able to
centralise it between the wheels. While it does have an idle shaft from the
diff to the right of the engine, so that on the original car the shafts are
equal length, on this car it is offset an inch or so to the left - and that
means the left drive shaft is about ten inches long against twelve on the
driver's side, with all the geometry changes that implies.

The third is that on both sides of the car, so much of the engine frame was
changed to fit the engine *in* that even though we thoroughly braced it
before we cut and rebuilt, it's surprising really that it's not half an
inch out. We didn't change the suspension tower pickups nor the wishbone
inboard ends (curiously, they were half an inch different relative to the
bulkhead but I don't know whether this was by original ford design), but on
both sides we had to reposition the tie bar pickups and use a blacksmith's
forge to reshape the tiebars so everything fitted together again!

The tyres are Yokos - can't recall the version - in 15/185/55 size.
