Dear all Thank you everyone for your speedy replies. I am always impressed by the depth of knowledge and willingness to share it with a fellow Quantum owner in trouble. I have looked into the paperwork that came with the H4. I also have been racking my memory. It was based on a MK3.5 donor vehicle that was begun by the man I bought it from and due to ill health was completed by the factory who put in the 1.8i engine. I am disappointed that the factory has made such a bad job with the wiring. I have been having to put up with the problem for ages. It is otherwise a brilliant car to drive and I really enjoy it. I have found a very good mobile auto electrician who is coming to me on Monday to sort out the problem by fitting a new fuse box that will spread some of the load that went through old one.
