From briefly looking at Assembla, it looks pretty cool, but I don't think I'd really like to use it for development of Quarry. One nice thing about places like Gna! and Launchpad are that they are Free Software themselves. I don't really know of another place that offers git hosting (and admittedly, nor have I really looked), but I'm even a bit hesitant about GitHub because of it's proprietary nature.
