Hi!
I never used Motion or Final Cut, so I can't really give you any
advice there. But did you take a look in the Console.app, namely the
the Console Messages, and check if there are any problems? For Quartz
Compositions, those are the same messages you can see in Quartz
Composer's Debug View inside the drawer.

this same procedure in Tiger was extremely fluid and smooth; there's
almost no interactivity to be had in this new version of Quartz
Composer.
The plug-ins ran fine in Motion 2.1.2, fairly close to real-time
playback, but are just terribly slow in Motion 3, with only very
simple coloration plug-ins running in real-time.
We are fairly certain this slowdown is not on our end of the
programming, so we're just wondering if any other developers out there
are experiencing the same issues we are.
