Hello,

I am wondering how it is possible to create dynamic histogram like
Aperture or iPhoto has. They are generated very fast and are redrawn
after each adjustment you have made. In real time. I doubt they are
rescanning whole image pixels after each action to get histogram
information.

Maybe this is related with QC?

In Leopard we have got useful patch "Image Histogram" which calculates
RGBA histogram values. But it works on CPU, not GPU and its speed
depends on image size. Meanwhile Aperture and iPhoto histogram works
fast with any image size.

Any thoughts?

By the way. How should I interpret "Area Histogram [Calculates a
histogram for the specified area in an image, returning the result in
a 1D image.]" result? What meaning does it have?

Regards,

Jonas S.
