To add to what I posted before and clarify....
I see the examples in the Developer folder for WebKit and Dashcode and
even though the "Graph" sample has a corrisponding .xml file there to
us, it actually reads it's data off the net.
Anyway, I've created a composition that reads an XML file form my
local disk. It runs fine on my personal box, but when I try to move it
to another box by publishing the widget and emailing it to myself then
installing it on the other box, then I see the "Safety warning/error".
So to clarify that I'm not a complete idiot, I know that I can get a
widget to read local files using XML, which again the Q&A seems to say
I shouldn't be able too in my DashCode/Dashboard widget, but somehow
it knows that I"m on the machine that created it and when I copy it to
another it knows it's now somewhere else. But given that, that then
implies that there is another way to get a widget with the "unsafe"
patches able to run.
It seems that I can get Dashcode/Dashboard widgets to read local data
using the system method or maybe openURL and then I guess parse the
XML data from a file read, then pass that to the QC composition? Is
this really the only way?
Thanks,
Sam Griffith Jr.
