Yep. The 8600s seem to have terribly performance in QC as discussed
on a previous thread. I use the world "terrible" based on the fact
that this is a newer, supposedly faster card, and yet I'm seeing
30-50% lower FPS in many cases than the older ATI Radeon 1600s.
I've seen this in a very simple patch which just loads to quicktime
movies and plays them back on a billboard (no iterators or 2nd QC
renderer active as in your bug report)
I hope this is either a QC issue, or a GL driver bug/issue, and not
some fundamental hardware limitation...?

Hello all,
I'm observing a dramatic reduction in FPS on a MacBook Pro with an
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT when more than one composition is running,
and one of them involves passing a structure of images into an
Iterator patch.
The attached ZIP file contains a demonstration of this problem,
instructions for reproduction included in the readme. I don't get
this on other machines so I'm assuming this is limited to this
specific NVIDIA card but I'd be grateful if anyone on this list
could confirm (or otherwise) this problem.
Caveat: Requires 10.5
I'll be submitting this as a bug to Apple soon
Cheers,
Ade.
