You can also use the QCCompositionRenderer propertyListFromInputValues and use the standard user defaults system to read and write them as plists. I do this in borderless - which includes the source, http://borderless.vade.info/

Yes, but it's not going to be easy.

To do it, you'll need to put your 12 slider values into a structure (I guess the kineme structure maker patches on kineme.net will be easiest), and then save the structure. If you want to save the settings out to disk, you'll probably want the kineme text writer plugin too, and you'll need to manage the files to keep them in some kind of reasonable order.

To pull them back in, you might need to convert the text files to xml (not sure as I've not tried this particular method, but I'm sure it's somehow possible), and use the XML loader patch to bring it back in as a structure. You can then pull out the values to feed back into your composition. If you want to be really fancy, you could bring in each batch of settings as a structure inside a single XML file, then be able to pick from them at will when you load them.

Good luck with it!

Chris

thanks to Toby + Chris putting me right with this,

I've set this up and it works really well. One thing I would like to do is I've got about 12 slider controlling the animation, and I would like to be able to save the setting from these. So I'll be able to switch between my favorite setting... is this possible?

Thanks Mark
