Hi All, i've created a little screensaver (not app, just a simple QTZ) and I"ve noticed a strange behaviour on my dual monitor Mac Pro which I can't identify.

Briefly what I do do is:
- get the current screen image
- scale it down
- create another image with same dimensions
- in this image an object is moving around, and leaving a trail with accumulation buffers
- I use that render in image to displacement distort the background

On my laptop (macbook pro, ATI 1600) it all looks fine. On my dual monitor mac pro (ATI1900) I get a rip down the middle of both screens when the distortion is taking place. Its hard to explain but basically looks like when the object crosses over from the left half of the screen to the right side (or vice versa), the distortion map isn't continuos - even though it is on my laptop. Also works fine on the Mac Pro running the QTZ in QC in a window, but I get the rip when running single monitor fullscreen in QC.

I'm not sure if this is a bug with either render in image, or accumulation buffers displacement distorts (because there is no break in the rendered image of the displacement), or I'm omitting something which I should be taking into consideration..

The QTZ is 1MB so I didn't attach it, it can be downloaded from here http://memo.tv/files/memotv/memotv%20FSM%20Screen%20Saver.qtz (or if that url gets encoded wrong and doesn't work, here http://memo.tv/his_spaghedeitys_screen_saver)

On a slightly different note, I tried reducing the size of the QTZ for email by deleting patches not needed - such as images and stuff, but the filesize didn't change at all!! I found I had to do a SAVE AS and save to new file - but filesize only dropped a tiny bit then. So this leads me to two additional questions: - Do we need to occasionally 'compact' QTZ files to remove the deleted patches from the file (similar to Flash - SAVE COMPACT) - Is there a way to see a breakdown of what patches contribute how much to filesize?

cheers,

memo.
