On a slightly different note, I tried reducing the size of the QTZ for email by deleting patches not needed - such as images and stuff, but the filesize didn't change at all!! I found I had to do a SAVE AS and save to new file - but filesize only dropped a tiny bit then. So this leads me to two additional questions: - Do we need to occasionally 'compact' QTZ files to remove the deleted patches from the file (similar to Flash - SAVE COMPACT) - Is there a way to see a breakdown of what patches contribute how much to filesize?

Regarding "compacting", this isn't necessary in QC. Each time you save it, it only includes the patches you use, none of the removed ones. It's possible to remove unnecessary information, but compositions are never in that state "naturally", and they don't accumulate dead bits unless you leave unused patches in the composition.

Regarding a way to see a breakdown of which patches take up how much space -- I'm going to bet that it's the images that take up most of the space in your composition, since they're usually embedded. I thought this an interested problem/metadata aspect of compositions, so I added basic per-node size characteristics to our latest CompositionTool beta: http://kineme.net/ CompositionTool20080815beta Thanks for the idea :)
