Hi!From our experience de-interlacing does not work with HDV. Using a Sony HDV camera it works if you put the camera in DV mode but does not work in HDV mode.
QTCapture does not (yet?) provide an official way to get a de- interlaced video frame, but our test results with the less than official QTCapture methods match those in Quartz Composer, so we assume it's a general QuickTime issue.

If you capture your camera's input to a 1080i movie, and play it back, it might be a fair test. You could also test this video in the Movie Loader patch (which also has a deinterlace checkbox), and see if it persists there.
