I 100% second that idea of an interface for editing timeline on the fly,
live. I used to harp about this alot, but now have given up.

Timelines being locked in is useless (or, of extremely limited use).

Something like taking the Ableton/Logic paradigm, where you can make
automation curves as a file is playing, "look ahead" and see upcoming
events, and have a loop type editor where you can cut/paste/nudge events,
etc., in real time, would be a best of both worlds type of approach to
reconciling timelines with realtime/interactive type activities. I perceive
this as a separate inspector type or a kind of extra editor app running
within QC.

I think that's so far outside of the way that stuff like this typically
works that maybe it only seems like a good idea to me ;)
