one word: directory scanner (o.k. thats actually two words :)
this holds a structure with the image paths from a folder.
you then need to billboards, the 1st showing the current image and the 2nd for the next image.
then some additional logic for the timing and and alpha fade.
after the fade is complete you basically swap the image indexes.

i attached a test comp i made a long long time ago.
its unfinished and still contains a timing calculation error somewhere so that it only fades correctly when the display duration is exactly double the fade duration (see the two input patches).
unfortunately i don't have time right now to fix it.
but you get the idea.
hope this helps.

take care

Hi. I'd like to cycle through a fixed set of images, crossfading between them. The images will all be the same size and occupy the same part of the output canvas. I'd like to specify the set of images, and a single duration for each one to stay up before fading into the next, and then just have this set loop

What's the easiest way to do this? Is there a patch that makes it easy, or will I have to build some multiplexers with images and alpha values and two billboards?

Thanks,
Rick
