Hi [email protected],

Thanks for the input.  The grub menu issue is one thing that is presently
working ok.  What happened was that when I installed Linux Mint it
automatically identified all the operating systems present and it created a
boot menu which comes up with every startup which lets me choose between
Mint,  Qubes and Windows 7 (and some other things).    I don't understand
some of what you wrote (like what a "xen section" is) but I don't think I
need to worry about that right now.
