Hi,

I'm going to buy a new computer recently. But I found that the compatible
motherboards listed on the official website is outdated. Is there any
recommended compatible motherboard? My budget is about 1000USD. I spent a lot
of time looking for resources, but I didn't get the right answers.

CPU: INTEL i7-8700

RAM: Micron Crucial 16G*2 DDR4-2666

MB : ???

Currently I am considering the following MB:
ASUS TUF H370-Pro Gaming WIFI ATX
Gigabyte H370 AORUS GAMING3 WIFI
ASUS STRIX H370-F GAMING

Thank you for your help!

As I implied in the "Help with a good laptop!" thread, 'GAMING' doesn't make a computer 'GOOD' in general (even though they both begin with 'G'); It just makes it good for gaming specifically on Windows with closed-source drivers.

Compatibility with open source (which is what Qubes OS relies on) is an entirely different matter. You would probably do best with a motherboard approved by Intel (in your case) or AMD for use with Linux.

It is also best to avoid consumer-grade equipment (this includes 'GAMING') and focus on business models for best compatibility. Finally, Nvidia has a rotten reputation for compatibility because they're so secretive about driver code; OTOH there are plenty of Intel and AMD graphics options available.
