The Raspbian build for the RPi is specifically built to support the
H/W floating point in the ARM processor.  I had to compile ntp to add
the NEMA and PPS support required for the GPS to work and I have the
same issue with my ntp setup as David is seeing.

John what specifically needs to be checked or do you just want the
TestFloat/SoftFloat test results?
