yes now it is in mine also. It was not there when I downloaded yesterday.
Sometimes after one does a download things change. I had this last week.
Downloaded the data on 1 computer and a few hours later on the other. When
calculating my signals I got a different result. After searching for 1.5 hours
what the hell was going on I found that for 1 symbol (NDSN) there was a
difference in volume for the last day, just enough that my system gave a signal
on 1 computer and not on the other. I did a download again on the computer I
had done the first download and then the volumes were the same and the signals
as well.

Maybe the switch from FD to M is not a good example. But the policy at QP has
definitely changed with respect to the removal of inactive symbols. Not sure
after FD if users will be able to spot inactive symbols in time. To preserve
them will take a lot of work and if I have to do work when paying for a data
vendor I can easily switch to free EOD quotes at Yahoo, eSignal and Quote.com
which one can easily download in 3 separate databases using Amibroker. I was
paying for the QP service for the reliability and to be sure I will have data
everyday. Sofar I was happy, recent changes will make me think about switching.
In fact the recent changes at QP makes it easier to use free data I think since
inactive symbols will not automatically be emptied out, but I will investigate.
I think it is annoying that users are not informed about changes. Apparently
there have been requests to do something with these inactive symbols but I was
not aware of any discussion on it. Apparently the majority of QP users are
happy with the recent changes.

  Ed:
M is in my database. If you have a problem with the change from FD to
M you may wish to talk to Macy, Inc they caused this change not
Quotes Plus. I dare say that you will find the same problem if you
check Yahoo Data or any other data source.

day to the other. It is clear now that a user can impossibly prepare
for this other than to make a backup of the database every day in
some other format and then afterwards try to figure out what changes
in the database have been made and reconstruct. Has this been
discussed on this board? QP makes changes without informing their
customers. I never received any notice that there is a change in
policy. It was just there because apparently there is a majority of
users who want this. How has this majority been measured. Seems to
me that when designing trading systems one does not want symbols to
suddenly disappear. I guess the majority of QP users is not using the
data to design systems. I guess I am forced to look into alternatives.
