Steve, The share price is adjusted for splits and stock dividends. For example a 2 for 1 stock split means all historical share prices prices prior to the split are divided by 2.
An historical record of the divisor used to adjust the stock prices of each stock is kept in the SMaster.qpf Access database file. As reported by Gary a while back the data in this file can be viewed with Microsoft's Access program. Hence if you own a copy of Access you can use the divisor data to verify historical share price data has been corrected for splits and dividends.
