Hi Brian,

The problem with the MIDI file you sent is that the program data and other initial settings are not at the beginning of the file. Picking a track at random - the acoustic guitar - if you use the event list, you will find bank change, program, volume, reverb and so on at beat 1.024, i.e. one beat and 24 ticks into the song.

Here's what you need to do to fix the problem:

From the Options menu, choose Options. In the dialog, there is a group of options called "Scan method for initial settings". The default method is called Time Zero: that is, QWS only looks for initial settings at the absolute beginning of the file. If you change this option to Before Notes or First Available, it should fix the problem for you.

However, notice that there are more than one setting for Volume, Chorus and Reverb, so your initial settings may still be overridden.

You could use the Track Statistics command to check this type of thing, and the Find command to locate them.
