hi there,
Here's my stabs at answering the questions you have.

1. Check in the manual of your keyboard first to see if the numbers for
programs go from 1 to 128, or 0 to 127. If the numbers are 0 based, then these
can be put straight into the definitions for your instruments. However, if the
numbers in the manual start at 1, subtract 1 from each number when putting
these into your definition file.

2. As for the xg synth, check a couple of things. First, is the channel of the
track set correctly? it should be between 1 and 16, with 10 usually for drums.
I often do this myself, and forget to set the channel from 0 in the dialog and
wonder why it doesn't work. If this doesn't work, try a xg reset, found in the
midi menu.

hth,
Arthur.

Subject: QWS List a pair of questions,

  Hello All,

i have a pair of questions about qws.

  1. I'm making an instrument list for my keybord. i got a program number like
this, 001. what should i at to my file, "001" or " 1", the same as in the
other files?

  2. I got the yamaha software synthesizer syxg50. when i add the general xg
instruments list to that device, make a track and i change the instrument to
for example church organ, no things will happened and the piano will play, with
all the voices. am i doing something wrong? all the instruments becomes not be
detected.

  greatings
