The below message is correct in content, however please note:
If you select an entire track IE, track 9 for copying and choose copy
either from the edit menu or control c, when it comes to pasting that track
onto track 10, instead of clicking paste in the edit menu or control v,
choose merge.
If you don't do this, wherever you press control v or click paste, it will
simply paste the copy of track 9 directly where the cursor is, and track 10
will be pushed to the end of the track 9.
Just thought I'd point this out in case anyone has trouble.
James, there is no hotkey for merge. Control m is taken as is control u
and control g and actually, control e. I guess there's no room to add one
then. Too bad. I was trying to think of something but can't. Perhaps
control B. It doesn't relate in any way, but you'd have undo, cut, copy,
paste, merge. Just kind of a logical order perhaps? maybe I talk rubbish
after all.

Raymond Grote happened to mention in passing:
You should take the contents of track 9 and put it into track 10, right
over top of the original track 10. In other words, track 10 normally has
kick and snare drums, track 9 has ride cymbals and other sounds that
carry the beat along smoothly, at least that's what my yamaha does.
Microsoft doesn't know that track 9 contains drums though, it only knows
that drums are on track 10. This happens with most other synths too.
Simply cut the contents of
track 9 and paste it into track 10 right over top of what was already
there. Delete track 9 now as you have already moved its contents.

Hey,
I have a yamaha dgx 205 keybord. how can i see my keybord is gm or
not? i
will add the instruments list i have made to this post.
That will be XG. Microsoft GS synth won't support that. To play your
drums back on other XG-complient devices, you should set the drum
track to 11, and the bank to 16256.
Yamaha without SysX give you two drum kits, track 10 and another track
on 16256. Hope this helps.
