I am a novice at this midi stuff. The only thing I have is a USB cable going from my Casio keyboard to the back of my computer. Do I need something else? Before I tried recording, my brother mentioned that he ran a midi cable to his computer. He said he had an older machine. I have other plugs in the back of my Casio, which I don't know anything about. As for recording, Andre Louis suggested this to me and it worked for me. Try switching the position of your MIDI plugs on your keyboard. I first unplugged the external drive, and continued to get the error, but after I also unplugged the keyboard as you suggested, the error message has gone away. I don't know what the situation will be like after I reboot, but for now I can launch QWS multiple times with no error. I still cannot record anything though. However, I am using Windows XP and a Yamaha USB Driver. I'm not sure what that means, but I can provide a suggestion to try and fix it.
