hi there, I don't own a USB midi interface, which is what I'm assuming you
have there, so just some general tips. Generally, when you plug the cable
in, it will show up something like.
USB midi 1x1, or something similar. By default, qws should listen on all
ports for incoming midi data, the selection for each track determines which
port the midi data is sent to. Maybe your keyboards plugged into the wrong
port, you want the keyboards midi out, going to the midi in on the cable,
not the out or the through if it has those.

Well, I bought this nifty midi to usb adapter, and plugged the thing in to
my old keyboard, but I can't figure out how to get the thing to work!
This
keyboard is from the early 90s, but I think it should still work!
First, is there something I can do in QWS to see if I'll be able to
communicate with the keyboard? I show my Creative sound card, as well as
a Microsoft wave sound device in the list. I'd sure appreciate some
pointers to help me get going!
I also am not sure how to tell which of the plugs is in, and which is out.
I mean, on this adapter. This adapter has some indicator light on it,
which is of course useless to me, and I'm guessing I'll be able to figure
out which is in, and which is out, by trial and error. Once I do, I'll
mark one of the plugs.
