ok mate, maybe you've solved this, but go into qws, under ports make sure ms wave table is enabled. maybe that could be it?

Well, perhaps I shouldn't call it an error message as the word "error" is not mentioned.
But as soon as I invoke QWS, a dialog box pops up as follows:
