Hi Raymond,

Personally, I use both the Note Editor and the Event List, but for different reasons. The main purpose of the Event Editor is to give you low-level access to the individual MIDI events. I personally find it very helpful when tracking the state of say MIDI controllers, or tempo events; for example to find out whether the sustain pedal is up or down at a particular point. OK, yes, you could do the same with the Controller Editor.

The Note Editor is more designed for quicker access to notes. In fact, you could quite quickly build up simple pieces using the Note Editor - I have done this. The Note Editor does have several facilities the Event List does not have, for example the quick increment and decrement keys on function keys F5-F8. Also, you are not restricted to looking at a single beat at a time. Personally, I find the Note Editor a lot quicker to use than the Event List when working with notes.

With best regards and wishing everyone a very happy Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous new year.

James.

Oh, I should've looked more carefully. I didn't realize the original note transforms were in a separate file, seeing as i didn't make any new ones yet. That was a good decision to have user ones in a separate file. I never did get the hang of the note editor, I just stuck with the event list. Is the note editor much easier than the event list, especially since it gives you more feedback now?
